Custom, Handmade Cycling Essentials
Welcome to Fun Bags. The site is very much under construction right now. And will be evolving for a while... as I have time to play with it.
Sewing operations, however, are in full swing. Shoot me an email if you would like to place an order.
Fun Bags 4 Bikes is a place to find bags (of course) and resources to help enhance your bicycling lifestyle. Whether it be a custom frame bag to integrate into your touring/commuting rig, maybe a little somethin' to carry munchies and a tube or perhaps you are endeavoring to make yourself some gear and are looking for ideas. Useful bags can increase the fun factor of any cycling experience.
You should probably be riding your bike right now.... but, since I have your attention, let me point out that having a (semi) permanent spot on your bike for essentials is, well.... sweet. Fun Bags are simple, durable and very water resistant (always double bag the important stuff).
This website is meant to share the knowledge and experience of making bags at home, hopefully selling a few here and there will help keep it rolling. I'm always looking for new ways to make the site more helpful, so please send me a message via the contact page if you have any rad ideas!
And check out the facebook page to see what sorts of bag making shenanigans have been going down, that's where I post most of my one off's and side projects.
Fun Bags are handmade, in my basement, currently located in Pullman, WA. Each one is fussed over extensively by yours truly, Mike. I am a bike mechanic by trade and have been crafting bags since 2011.
Fun Bags are made with the highest quality materials I can get my hands on and I am always happy to make adjustments and repairs.
By purchasing a Fun Bag you are supporting a super small business focused on hand-made products in the good ol' U.S. of A.
You're also helping me spread knowledge and the love of bicycles.
If all that doesn't blow you're skirt up, what it really means is you're helping to feed my big, fat, lazy dog.
I strongly believe in sharing knowledge. My hope is that this website will become a useful resource for others interested in broadening their horizons and testing their mettle.
The magic of the internet is that we have access to the bulk of human knowledge, right there in our pocket. A truly amazing time to be alive. My mission is to contribute to that pool of knowledge as best I can.
If you are the DIY sort, visit the How To Bag Fun page for patterns and info on how to start making bags yourself.
The External Resources are great places to explore if your looking for information on bike packing, touring, bag making and general mechanical knowledge (for when you need to use those tools you so conveniently carried along in your bag!)
